Washington, DC – Congressman Bill Keating (MA-09) received an email from NOAA this evening that the overharvesting of Atlantic Bluefin Tuna in the mid-Atlantic, to the detriment of northeast recreational tuna fishermen, will be halted at 11:30PM this evening. This email was a partial response to a letter sent to NOAA on February 12 demanding a closure of the fishery.

Vice Admiral Nancy Hann calling for answers on NOAA's failure to stop the overharvesting of bluefin tuna and the potential impact on local fishermen later this year.
